Truth be told, this image was not taken at night or even close to a moonlit evening. Rather, this moment was captured late in the morning well past “good light”. As I sat quietly on the edge of a meadow, I watched the owl hunting. I noticed it move through a small sliver of light as it flew between full sun and full shade. Waiting for just the right moment, I was able to capture a scene of calm and stillness one would expect on a night lit by the brightness of a full moon.
